HBOT Safety at Revive

Designed for Comfort, Built with Care

If you’re new to hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), it’s natural to have questions — especially when you see headlines or online discussions that don’t always explain the full picture.

At Revive, we believe the best way to build confidence is through clear, calm information. So here’s a simple explanation of how the hyperbaric systems we use are designed, and why they have such a strong safety record.

Not all HBOT systems are the same

HBOT exists across a spectrum.

Some systems are used in hospitals for acute medical conditions and operate at high pressures in oxygen-rich environments. Others — including the systems used at Revive — are designed for everyday recovery, wellbeing, and performance support.

The hyperbaric chambers we use fall into the second category: mild / smart HBOT.

This distinction matters, because the design, operating pressure, and safety profile are very different.

How our HBOT systems are designed for safety

Normal air, not an oxygen-filled chamber

The chambers at Revive:

  • Operate using normal ambient air

  • Do not fill the chamber with pure oxygen

  • Do not rely on stored oxygen tanks or canisters

If oxygen is used at all, it is delivered locally via a mask, rather than changing the air inside the chamber. This helps keep the internal environment stable and controlled.

Lower pressure, gentler conditions

Mild HBOT works at lower pressures than hospital-based systems.
This creates a more comfortable experience for clients and places less stress on materials and components — one of the reasons it’s so well suited to regular wellness use.

Fire-resistant materials and thoughtful engineering

Modern mild HBOT chambers are built specifically for this environment, using:

  • Fire-resistant, medical-grade materials

  • Carefully controlled airflow and pressure systems

  • Non-sparking internal components

These aren’t optional extras — they’re part of how the chambers are designed from the ground up.

Approved for everyday use (including electronics)

One of the clearest signs of this design approach is that OneHype chambers include a built-in TV inside the chamber.

Manufacturers simply wouldn’t integrate powered electronics unless the chamber environment had been assessed and approved for that use.

In line with manufacturer guidance, low-power personal devices such as laptops or tablets can also be used, provided safety guidelines are followed. Items that generate heat or pose unnecessary risk are, of course, excluded.

Safety is also about how we operate

Even the best equipment relies on good practice.

At Revive, we:

  • Follow manufacturer safety and operating guidelines closely

  • Carry out checks before each session

  • Control what items are brought into the chamber

  • Ensure staff are trained in hyperbaric safety and client care

  • Maintain equipment to a high standard

This combination of good design and good practice is what underpins the excellent safety record of mild HBOT.

We’ll take care of you

The hyperbaric systems used at Revive are:

  • Designed for wellness and recovery settings

  • Operated at lower pressures

  • Built with fire-resistant materials

  • Approved for use with everyday electronics

  • Supported by clear manufacturer guidelines and trained staff

HBOT should feel relaxing, comfortable, and confidence-building — not intimidating.
If you ever have questions, we’re always happy to talk things through and help you feel at ease before your session.
